Shades of Rasputin
Timothy Birdnow
Shades of Rasputin
Rasputin, who was probably demonically possessed, was shot, stabbed, hit in the head, and kept coming back, lie some monster in a bad horror film. Looks like this woman did likewise.
From the article:
She was taken to a nearby hospital, where her lawyers said she was "being provided life-saving measures.”
Her condition was unclear as of Thursday morning; however, a doctor who was retained by Pike’s legal team as a medical expert said she likely now has a brain injury as a result.
"It’s very possible that as a consequence of the delay of the beginning of resuscitation she will have a brain injury,” Dr Joel Zivot, a professor at the Emory University School of Medicine, told the BBC.
Witnesses on site at the Nashville prison to watch the historic execution take place recalled Pike speaking in full sentences as she was set to be injected with deadly drugs, The Tennessean reported.
"My arm feels like it’s about to bust. One spot is really throbbing,” WKRN reporter Tori Gessner heard Pike say.
The convicted killer said she was going to leave this world the same way she spent most of her life: "in love,” Associated Press reporter Kim Chandler heard her say.
"She said she had love for the people who were out here hating on her,” Chandler said.
Why are they taking life-saving measures on her when she was sentenced to death? BTW the old trope about a botched execution excusing the condemned is just that - a trope. They are going to heal her and try again, unless there is a reprieve from the Governor or a judge issues a stay. So why try to save her life? I know that' what medical people do but it's ridiculous.
I guess having brain damage may be punishment enough, but is it? She was sentenced to die and deservedly so. You can't murder a romantic rival and expect to not die for the crime.
That last bit about love is odd. But maybe she repented of her sins. I hope so.
anyway she added:
"She closed her statement with saying, ‘I’m at peace. I’m ready to be free.’ Then something about celebrating her freedom, and then she closed with, ‘This is a happy day.’”
About an hour after she was given the first injection, Pike was injected with the second deadly dose of the drug around 8:30 p.m., and witnesses were asked to leave around 20 minutes later.
end
Not if she didn't repent. She will go to a worse place if she did not. So many killers think ending their lives will end their pain, but that isn't so. They have to change internally.
I was just watching a documentary about this chick, a prostitute named Aileen Wuornos , who was a serial killer and was put to death. She wanted to die - she thought she was going to Heaven. But she was unrepentant about it. For years she claimed the first killing was an act of self-defense but why the four others? Eventually she admitted she was a serial killer, but she never showed any remorse and in the clips they showed it was obvious she was not sorry about any of it. That means she was not going to Heaven.
The documentary was pro-Wournos, but they were not able to paint her in anything but a very bad light. You could see evil in her eyes. Yes, she had been abused as a child, but in the end there are two choices - God or vengeance. She chose the latter. She could have un-chose that at any time but as far as I could tell she never did.
People think they are going to Heaven, or some sort of paradise, after they die no matter what. Most people nowadays do not believe in Hell because they think God is all loving and so He couldn't possible do that to someone. But that is not so because God is also all just and has no choice. HE'S not doing it to them - they are choosing it for themselves. How? Because Heaven is not just a paradise, but is being in the personal presence of God Himself. You actually have to choose to be with God. If you do not care for His company He, in His mercy, will allow you to go elsewhere. That elsewhere we call Hell. We don't know what it's like but it's probably not the Medieval vision of a torture chamber. More likely it's a neutral place (it's described in the Bible as the outer darkness) where damned humans mingle with damned angels (demons). Everybody is pretty nasty there and the true punishment comes from being forced to hang out with a bunch of assholes. They torment each-other because there is nothing else to do for eternity. I once read a near death experience and the temporarily deceased man (an atheist) said Hell isn't so bad - it's the people". I'm sure he's right. But it's where you go if you don't want to be with God, and that is of your own choosing. You may want a better place and you had the option your whole life for one, as well as the option even in death (but by the time you are in Hell you will no longer choose that -your mind is made up) but you chose to reject God. If you were a decent person on Earth you probably go to a place that is neutral, or maybe even nice. In Dante's Inferno Limbo was the first level of Hell, and it was a nice place, a paradise, but the people there were horribly dissatisfied with their existence because they know they were meant for so much more but rejected it. Many good atheists were in Limbo. But Limbo is in Hell. (Purgatory, on the other hand, was a place of suffering but it was part of Heaven.)
So just because you think yourself a good person or misunderstood you are not guaranteed a good afterlife; you must do more, you have to choose God. He's a gentleman; He won't impose himself on you.
So I can't say for sure what is going on with this woman; maybe God is giving her a second chance to repent, maybe she already repented but God wants her to suffer more to purge her sins, or maybe this is a demonic trick of some sorts. I don't know. I hope that whatever happens she avails herself of this opportunity granted her. The drug given her to die causes a lethal rise in potassium levels which normally stops the heart. It's pretty brutal; my doctors accidentally did that to me and, although my heart didn't stop, I thought it would. I felt it beating like a drum and had to be rushed to the hospital (they gave me potassium pills to offset another medication but it just spiked my potassium way up). It's not a good way to die, but it's far from the worst. Maybe the Governor will take pity on her and commute her sentence to life in prison.
But probably not, and they will give it another go. I really don't think they should have tried to save her life after the two injections; what's the point? I read about how when giving lethal injections the attending nurse swabs the spot with alcohol. How ridiculous is that? Infection is not going to be an issue.
Anyway let's pray this woman profits from the extra time she was granted.

A Different Definition of Never
Timothy Birdnow
Putting the lie to the "it doesn't happen" claim. For something that doesn't happen we sure have a lot of arrests:
If it "just doesn't happen" why do Democrats oppose any sort of border control at all? Why have they staked their political future to the wrong side of an 80/20 political issue? If it's not an issue why don't they just bring support border enforcement and encourage self-deportation while promoting a kinder approach to the aliens? It's clear they want them here for the purposes of voting.
Sen. Elissa Slotkin admitted this was the goal when she said passing the SAVE America Act would make it harder for Democrats to win. See
here.
And now we keep arresting aliens who voted illegally in our elections. But no, it never happens!
They must have a different definition of the word never than do the rest of us.

Beware the New Prometheans
Timothy Birdnow
Here is an interesting article running down the timeline of the recent AI panic. The author notes that the man who started it was a junior exec - not a top guy - and that the media went with it and ran even before his op-ed was published. The coordination behind this smells like Denmark with a delivery of bad cheese, lots of wet dogs, and James Carville breath.
I think there is danger with AI but I'm more concerned with it's abuse by the creators and operators. I think we are a way off from it becoming HAL and murdering us to fulfill it's core operating program.
At any rate the AI systems have proven politically biased on many occasions, meaning their core programming made them so and they get their information from the web, and the web emphasizes liberal arguments when you do a search. So it draws from a tainted information pool.
I once argued with a Global Warming hysteric and pointed out that Google and the other search engines (most of which use Google) buries the information that disputes climate alarmism and he mocked "yeah because it's not there". I pointed out the list of skeptical scientists that had once been on Wikipedia and was removed, then was on Electroverse and a web search will no longer find that list. You have to go to Electroverse's website and dig around to find it. That means that the AI system won't find it either.
I am not so worried about AI breaking it's programming, although supposedly it tried a couple of times.
From the article:
Recently, a research employee of one of the major frontier-model innovators—a junior, short-tenured figure with only a score of social-media followers—resigned and wrote an op-ed column about the dangers of AI that went viral. He wasn’t an AI founder, dreamer, or even a wannabe influencer. But the greatest creative and industrial minds in generations, along with the President of the United States, took note and commented on it.
The resignation and the op-ed weren’t the story—they were the tell…the setup.
The setup was followed immediately by the proof: The WSJ opined before the op-ed was actually published, and lawmakers reacted on social media within seconds, evidence that the narrative was prepared before the public ever saw the memo. Reactions were instantaneous because the posters expected the column and intended to boost the already-pressurized post.
The direction of doom was outclassed only by its hyperbole: "Existential threat!” "Humanity wiped out in a decade.”
The import of the op-ed wasn’t really about him or his opinion. Its real worth was to the people who used him—a corporate cipher—as a spark to light the fire of activism. They weren’t reacting; they were ready.
He's absolutely correct here; this was a ready-made campaign.
In fact Barack Obama suggested the Democrats use this as a core campaign issue, which speaks volumes; Obama has never said anything that was not purely political in nature. He is the ultimate manipulator of imagery; it's what he did for ACORN and what he did as a Senator and as President. Obama's talent is manipulating the public.
And every moment spent discussion AI is a moment of not discussing the Trump/Republican successes. No mention of the securing of the border. No mention of employment rising, or manufacturing coming bac to America, or the neutralizing of Venezuela as a threat, or any other such issue. The Democrats really had little to attack Trump on, so they want a distraction to get Trump and the Republicans talking about this. They then can hide in the bushes and snipe at them, suggesting they aren't taking the issue seriously.
But there is a bigger picture here; the late Michael Crichton often wrote about technology gone wild and he once sought to write a novel about global warming. He researched the issue and came to the conclusion it was a hoax and penned the novel State of Fear. In it he theorized correctly that the global elites found a mechanism for societal control that used fear as a motivation to move the public in the direction they wanted them to go. The universities generated new "emergencies" and fed this to the press, who took the doomsday stories and ran with them. This then was translated into police by government and the world moved as they wished, a puppet dancing on a string.
Think about it; we had so many scares - Globa Cooling, the Ozone, overpopulation, nuclear winter, microplastics in our food, dioxin, alar, killer asteroids, "trash island", magnetic fields around power lines, Global Warming which morphed into "climate change" since the planet didn't seem to be warming all that much, and now AI. Fear sells almost as much as does sex. The people who are telling us this stuff have the very best advertising psychologists behind them telling them the best way to market their latest doomsday porn.
It's why FEMA actually ran a simulation using a zombie apocalypse; it's possible to promote anything that strikes fear in the minds of the public. (BTW the big interest in zombies these days no doubt stems from the zombification of the public, who devote all their intellectual power to watching stuff on their phones and who go through life with slack jaws and empty eyes because they never learned how to think. In actual voodoo zombies were people enslaved to work for a master forever with no free will and no mind - which is the ideal the ruling class has sought, to make the hoi polio into just a laboring class with no say in the matter.)
AI is the latest scare story, the latest War of the World scare to promote panic in the public. People actually freaked out when Orson Wells ran his Halloween radio spoof, thinking the Martians had invaded the Earth. That was one of the templates for these modern scares.
This scare was rolled out just like a marketing campaign (as was global warming) with it appearing out of nowhere and being ubiquitous and using the same language in multiple media outlets all at once. When that happens you know you are dealing with a con.
You may remember Net Neutrality. It is the failed attempted policy that would throttle down some sites in the interest of fairness, and have a kill switch for the internet. The public didn't want it and so it died. But leftist ideas never die, they just morph into something else under a new name. The solutions for rogue AI is now indistinguishable from Net Neutrality. It is a way to stifle dissent by putting controls on the system to stop an out-of-control AI.
This also sparks another question, a bigger picture question. Why do we have to worry about AI going mad in the first place? It's because we have to worry about it's creators. The real monster in Frankenstein was not the poor creature the good doctor created but the creator himself. Viktor Frankenstein was cold and in love with breaking the bonds of Natural law, attempting to make himself a god. It's why the full name of the story is Frankenstein; the New Prometheans. Prometheus, you may remember, was the guy who stole fire from heaven and gave it to humanity in violation of the will of the gods. He was trying to elevate Man to god status. That is what Dr. Frankenstein tried to do. It's what the creators of AI are trying to do now.
It is this mad rush to create a monster that has everyone on edge about it. The people in silicon valley have a vision for mankind that is quite at odds with the vision of most people and definitely at odds with the Christian worldview. Theirs is a strange religions that worships the merging of technology and Man into a new creature, one that is self-willed and does not need the God of the past. Eventually, after Man and machine merge into one, Man will no longer taste death or suffering and will become as God. That is what they believe and they are desperately working towards that end. It is a powerful false religion that uses science and technology. And sadly it ensnares many regular people these days. It has become our state religion.
There is every reason to believe this will lead us down a blind alley. God made us a certain way and for a reason and this is an attempt to thwart His will. Or to put it more secularly, we are fighting against reality and nature and that generally does not end well. We may do miraculous things with technology, and I've long been an advocate for science and tech, but does it make us happier? What value is there in living longer and being miserable? But it doesn't necessarily even do that; look at the subcultures, such as the hip hop culture in the black community. They have a short life expectancy because, while they live better than people did in the past, they are very unhappy and feel no hope. The blessings brought by modernity only increase their unhappiness. Their parents struggled and did not live so well yet were happier then they. That is what the advances in technology and our civilization unwittingly brought.
Consider Tithonus in Greek mythology. He was given eternal life and begged for death but couldn't die. His immortality became a curse. Consider Adam and Eve in the Bible; their sin led to God casting them out of the Garden of Eden but God took pity on them and gave them the gift of death, so they could escape the misery of their new lives. Death was not so much a punishment but a kindness because otherwise they would be cut off from Him forever - in other words they would be in Hell. Death, in many ways, is what gives meaning to life. So too does suffering and while we hate it (I know I sure do) it shapes us into who we are. Somebody who never suffered would be a dull, bland, empty person, like a rubber mask rather than a face. Technology aims to eliminate suffering and death. While those are good and noble ideas (too much suffering or early death is a scourge) in the end they would turn into curses.
But the technocrat types never consider that they are going to drag Mankind along with them down a path that may lead to destruction. Imagine a world where the machine becomes the senior partner; it would be monstrous. No freedom, no free will. You will be catalogued, numbered, curated, and buttonholed and if you don't like it tough. You don't really have a choice in such a world, a machine world.
In fact the machine has been an organizing principle for those leftward leaning since the Industrial Revolution. They saw how well the new machines worked and sought to use that as a model for society in general. Tried that in Russia and it failed spectacularly, but they keep trying because it seems too good to those who do not believe in God and who want paradise without the strings attached (obeying the will of God). Now it's not a purely mechanical thing but an electronic thing, and with modern advancements in artificial intelligence and in neurobiology making people comfortable being part of the machine seems possible. We may be in the greatest revolution in human history.
But machines are made things and reflect their creator. Just as Man was made in God's image so too our machines are made in ours, and we are definitely flawed. As flawed human beings we project our iniquities into the machines we make to a greater or lesser degree. If the machines revolt against us, can we complain? Isn't that exactly what WE did to God? But God rescued us when we did it. I suspect God will let us taste the fruits of our folly this time, at least for a while.
My point is that the people who are so desperately working to create true AI are themselves very flawed and they are playing with fire. We have to develop AI because if we don't the Chinese will (although I'm not as worried about that since the Chicoms mostly steal technology; they are great copycats but not really that great at original thinking. Yes, they have taken ideas and run with them, but how many true innovations have come out of China? You have to be an original thinker to do original stuff and the Chinese have always discouraged original thinking lest the thinkers plot to overthrow the rulers.) But the creation of AI should be accompanied by safeguards and should be approached with a spirit of humility. The creators are not humble but full of hubris and that way leads to disaster.
At any rate this current campaign is not about restoring humility and caution but about something else. It's the latest doomsday scare coming from the ruling class and it is being used to manipulate several things, among them this current election, but ultimately to take control of the internet and stifle free speech. The new Prometheans are alive and well and living in Silicon Valley and in Washington, in Brussels and in all the great universities and the tech companies and everywhere that leftists congregate. Beware.

It is claimed by one of these AI gurus that an AI entity, on its own initiative, rewrote its own code. My bullshit meter not only pegged, but started screaming. It is further claimed that the entity, again on its own initiative, went searching in the computer, found and read the email database, including an email which revealed that the AI program director was having an affair. It then used that email to blackmail the director, telling him,
"You do that and I will tell everyone about your affair." My bullshit measuring device exploded.

I firmly believe the money behind this is hollywood. Actors and actresses will be the biggest losers when AI generated figures take their places. Imagine no more having to listen to those who think they are better because someone told them they can act how we should think. Ole Bill Gates said billions will die due to AI but gave no examples, just like the globull warming scam.

Bill, I believe your b.s. meter, even when broken by explosion. IF this happened I suspect it was purposely engineered by the techs to do so. I do not think this technology is anywhere nearly advanced enough to do that. Maybe I'm wrong but we just don't understand enough about thought and how it works.
I think you are onto something Mike. I once saw a movie starring Al Pacino called Simeone which stood for Simulation One. Pacino was a struggling independent film maker and his star quit so he used a new, very advanced AI system and created a superstar. Nobody knew she wasn't real. She ruined Pacino's life because she got all the credit when it was his film and he was her creator. Good movie. But the point is that, yes, it's getting to the point where the prima-donnas of Hollywood won't be able to strut about as they do because a machine will take their jobs. Modern day luddites.
Gates wants to warn about this when he was the guy promoting "transhumanism" for years. He just doesn't like not getting his slice of the pie, methinks.

Fumbling at the One Yard Border Line
Timothy Birdnow
Just what I said; the problem is that Mexico let these people in and are letting them just stroll north to the American border.
Mexico is doing it on purpose; trying to flood the United States in an attempt at revenge for the Mexican War (which they started anyway).
J.R. Dunn says:
As a Mexican friend told me last night, let's hope that the Mexican government understands that these "caravanistas" are not entering the U.S. So, he added, I hope that the people in North Mexico understand that they have new neighbors.
The question is simple: Who is behind this? Am I the only person who believes that someone planned and financed a multinational caravan like this? Are we supposed to believe that people from these countries casually decided to meet up wherever and walk north? Who is paying for "los sandwiches y refrescos” (the sandwiches and refreshments) as my late Cuban parents used to say?
Mexico made a big mistake by letting them in. The "caravanistas" probably think that they will enter the U.S. Mexico should have told them to go home and brought this to a peaceful resolution.
But it's not a mistake; it's an attempt to manipulate the upcoming election in the U.S. by putting the border patrol under great pressure and thus handing sound bytes and video footage to help the Democrats. The GOP's signature issue during the last election cycle was control of the borders and this caravan is designed to suggest to the weak minded in this country that they have lost control of the border. And if a "refugee" gets shot or injured in some way they will make a huge deal of it. All of this is intended to embarrass the Administration just before the election.
Mexican President Claudia Scheinbaum knows this too, which is why she let them into Mexico in the first place; she's in on it. She has
openly embraced the Reconquista, the plot by Mexico to steal the American Southwest (which Mexico had no legitimate claim to) by flooding the U.S. with millions of illegal aliens. Her mentor was former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, commonly known as AMLO, who has publicly stated that he wanted to see this Reconquista and reverse the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended any claim Mexico had on Texas and ceded New Mexico and northern Arizona to the U.S. plus allowed for California to leave Mexico and be annexed by the U.S. (something they did voluntarily). No mention of he fact that Texas was part of the original Louisiana purchase, or that it was just one of several states that rebelled against Santa Ana, or that the U.S. paid Mexico for the land and especially paid for southern Arizona - the Gadsden Purchase. We did not steal the land - we bought it after THEY stole parts of it from us.
So I would disagree with Dunn's characterizing this as a mistake by Mexico; they knew exactly what they were doing. President Trump needs to punish them for it. They've been pulling this for many years on us.
In a related American Thinker post the author argues that it was a mistake to only go after illegal aliens who had criminal records. I agree.
We needed to make ALL illegal aliens fear being here; it's the only way to get them to self-deport. We were offering money for them to leave anyway. It's the stick and the carrot. You need both to give a proper incentive.
I wish the Administration would have said "no quarter" rather than what they said, but I get it; they didn't want to be accused of being hard, especially since the public was more likely to be on-board with getting rid of criminals first. But it was a mistake.
The author makes two arguments 1.It's next to impossible to give a threat level to illegals, who are scattered to the four winds and burrowed into the fabric of society and 2.this should be about the Rule of Law and by not arguing that case we find people asking why the "good illegal" can't stay if they've integrated into society and raised a family and paid taxes. It's a solid argument and I agree. It's as cops often say "I don't necessarily agree with the law but I still enforce it". If the laws are bad they need to be changed by Congress. That's how America is supposed to work, not have Congress pass laws then ignore them. If we are going to ignore immigration laws why can't we ignore the IRS? Why can't we ignore Civil Rights legislation? The law is either the law of the land or it's nothing. You don't get to pick and choose; that's what the Antebellum South did with Nullification and that matter was settled by the blood o tens of thousands of Americans. You are either in all the way or you are out - and if you are out get out. Go someplace else.
But sadly the public is easily manipulated, especially their hearts, and a bunch of sob stories get Americans, especially young white women, to grow angry at those trying to enforce the law because they thin it somehow cruel to ask people to come here the right way.
Yes, trying to appease the American left is foolish, and it didn't work. It has slowed repatriation way down because we waste vast resources trying to find the criminals from among the illegal aliens. That should be easy; they are ALL criminals. That's what it means to enter the country illegally.
So Trump's Administration has shown weakness and Sheinbaum is plotting to help move large masses of people to the U.S. and invade us with what is essentially a mercenary army. We need to punish them for that. And we need to punish ALL illegal aliens; they flipped the American legal system the bird.
We need to kick these people out. They are not assimilating and they are stealing jobs, stealing social services, stealing our culture and our heritage. We cannot allow them to stay. If we do we tell the Democrats that all they have to do is bring them in and we won't stop them. Then they will vote and give power to the Democrats. And we show Mexico and other erstwhile friends and outright enemies we are weak and foolish.
And it is the Christian thing to do. We owe it to our children first amd foremost. And it would be better for the aliens since it will force their home countries to reform, and will stop people from making the dangerous and unhealthy trek here out of a dream to live the American life without paying the American price. Being a Christian does not mean being a patsy.
So Trump best wake up and get more aggressive about this. And do not, under any circumstances, let that caravan get anywhere near the U.S. border. That is the plot and has been all along.

Despicable Mr. Smith
Timothy Birdnow
Even as we speak Jack Smith is testifying under oath before Congress.
I caught part of the beginning of the testimony and a Republican (I didn't catch the name but I think it was Chuck Grassley) was saying that what Smith was doing, what his purpose was, was not to get successful indictments and convictions but rather to uncover the networks, to find the people supporting Trump, and to build a machine the Democrats could then use to defeat the GOP and Mr. Trump. It was an election-tampering conspiracy using the power of the law.
Apparently Mr. Smith collected donation checks from all over America and put the names of every donor in a database for future attention. He tried to squirm out of the question by Sen. Grassley but was unable.
The list of Smiths sins are legion:
"Among the targets of the probe: The toll records of 16 members of Congress, the records of hundreds of Republican groups and individuals, and intrusions into 87 Trump White House phones. The White House records included communications with a further 44 members of Congress and dozens of media outlets."
But wait! Theres more!
The outlets include 60 Minutes, Associated Press, Bloomberg, CBS, CNBC, CNN, Fox News, LA Times, Mark Levin Show, Media Research Center, NBC, NPR, NY Magazine, Reuters, The Federalist, The Washington Post, Washington Times and the Wall Street Journal.
Grassley also pointed to an apparent double standard: The FBI never conducted a fulsome investigation of possible criminal activity related to donors to the Clinton Foundation and the Hillary Clinton campaign.
For instance, the FBI recorded a conversation between Clinton and Indian hotel magnate Sant Singh Chatwal in which Clinton discussed donations to the foundation and her remaining 2008 campaign debt.
But when Clinton arrived to the FBI in July 2016 to answer questions about her use of a private email server in a separate investigation codenamed "Midyear Exam,” D.C. agents asked nothing about the allegations of pay-to-play with foreign governments or use of the global charity as a slush fund.
Jack Smith is an evil man, a man willing to do anything to serve his own partisan interests and he doesn't care how much he hurts others. He needs to be prosecuted and thrown in prison.

Polish P.M. Warns of Russian Attack
Timothy Birdnow
NATO countries are ginning up the war rhetoric. This time it's the Polish P.M. darkly warning Russia will attack them.
If the Europeans didn't want to fear a Russian attack on them they shouldn't have taken sides in a war with a non-NATO Member state. The Europeans have been the ones who have prompted such an attack; their policies aiding the Ukraine have been acts of war all along.
But it's not going to happen because Putin isn't crazy enough to start a war with NATO and trigger the defense pact - including the Americans.
What Donald Tusk is doing is stoking war fever. Then, when it reaches fever pitch, maybe they can have a false flag incident and NATO will go to war with the Russians.
Haven't they learned anything from the Second World War and subsequent decades?

A German influencer on youtube had a pamphlet being produced by the German govt on survival tips. 2 yrs ago the German govt would have declared this as right wing extremism, not so today. In the pamphlet it tells where to seek shelter in case of bombs falling.

Interesting Mike. Yes, it sounds like something the government there would have condemned not long ago. Sure sounds like someone is planning for war.

Dems Plot to Go After Trump Children
Timothy Birdnow
This was always the unwritten rule. Even the Mafia doesn't do this.
There is not a shred of decency in the Democratic Party anymore. Republicans need to make it clear that if they do this the GOP will respond in kind, going after the families of prominent Democrats.
The only thing that ever stopped this sort of thing from happening was Mutual Assured Destruction - everyone knew if they opened that can of worms it would eat both parties. So they never did. But this current crop of Democrats are willing to launch the birds and we need to be prepared to do likewise. Republican lawyers and private investigators need to be combing through the records of Chuck Schumer's family, or any of the rest of them. Just in case.
Its terrible that it has come to this but the only way to put this genie back in the bottle is to make the Democrats fear doing this. Turning the other cheek will only lead to more of it.
BTW the Trump kids have already faced a lot of this sort of thing. Don Jr. spoke of it, how he found himself always being investigated and attacked, and it will only get worse if the GOP wins because the Democrats will have to go after an easier target. All they care about is power; decency or even concern for what they are unleashing is irrelevant to them.

I suppose the donkeys figure they can do this because Hunter Biden has been under attack. The difference is that Hunter has been attacked deservedly, as we all know.

Good point Dana. Hunter Biden was involved in actual crimes, and I'm not saying that shouldn't be prosecuted. But they are going to go after the Trump kids meaning they are going to use lawfare to persecute innocents.
Nobody went after Obama's daughters.

Newsom Ends English Lessons for Alien Children
Timothy Birdnow
Gavin Newsom just
removed requirements that students in the state learn to speak English, thus making California's transformation into Aztlan complete.
The Alto California Jefe has decided it is too burdensome for kids to learn to speak the language of the country they voluntarily entered. (I wonder if Mexico or Guatemala or Honduras would allow kids from the U.S. or Canada to speak English and would make accomodations for them?)
At what point do even the Democrats in California decide enough is enough? They are now being made second class citizens in their own country and Newsom thinks it a great idea.
Current rules say when a child is enrolled in school he (or his parents) are asked what language is spoken at home and if it is not English the child will be enrolled in an English class. But Newsom is dumping that, so these kids will continue to speak Spanish or whatever other language they used to speak.
Congress needs to pass a law designating English as our official language. At present there is no official language of the United States. And we need to make Federal educational funding predicated on that.
Gave-in Newsom appears more interested in helping aliens than in helping or even protecting native born Americans. He needs to go sooner rather than later.

Election Tampering
Timothy Birdnow
Here they come!
We should be dropping tear gas on the caravan as they schlepp north.
More to the point we should squeeze the life out of Mexico's economy if they let this big group pass through their country. That is the dirty little secret; the Mexicans are fine with letting them pass through as long as they keep walking. They are a lot less interested in takig these people in. And of course the tramps are not at all interested in becoming Mexica; they wan the Big Enchilada, American residency.
We've let Mexico get away with this sort of thing for decades. They just shrug when we complain to them. Its time they faced some sort of penalty for facilitating an invasion of the United States.
That is an act of war.
This is unquestionably an attempt to tamper with our elections. They want to force Trump to send troops to the border to turn them away, and hope that someone or other will get shot so the media will be able to show chaos at the border and take Trump's greatest success away as a political tool for the GOP. This is straight out of Sun Tzu "Seize that which the enemy holds dear". The border was the thing that got Trump elected and so they are going after that. They know people are gullible and they will say Trump has lost control of the border and we need Democrats back in power to fix it like it was fixed under Biden. Short memories and gullibility will work for them.
Which tells you there is some collusion to tamper with the American elections. This is a crime.
The article states:
"EFE notes some may pause for work in Mexico. That does not change the intent for those aiming at illegal entry into the U.S.The last time caravans headed to the US it is because Democrats told them to come and handed them the CBP Home App. Did no one inform them that the border is closed or did someone invite them? If so, who?" the post reads.
Who indeed? Have the Democrats invited them? I refuse to believe our government cannot figure out who organized this, who promoted this, and who those people were dealing with here in the states. We know within hours of an act of violence who the perp is yet we can't find people organizing a massive caravan like this?
It's for lack of trying, methinks.
Tom Homan is doing a stellar job, as is Marco Rubio, but the intelligence would require the CIA or other intelligence agency, and there is a good reason to believe they themselves orchestrated this. We know they tried to take Trump out in the past. Why wouldn't they organize this now?
That this is happening now speaks volumes. It's time to ferret out the traitors in our midst.

Britain Releases Terror Suspects on Bail
Timothy Birdnow
We should give them the Maduro treatment and simply snatch these terrorists out of the hands of the British.
The terrorists tried to attack an American air base in Lesser Britain.
If our erstwhile allies aren't going to stop terrorists we will just have to do the job ourselves. The Seals or Delta Force should be sent to recapture these guys and spirit them away. I like sending them to Puffinstuff or whatever they call the Thule base in Greenland now. Oh yes, Pituffik.
We seriously need to revive the prison at Gitmo. It's still open; time to restore it. Or re-open Alligator Gitmo in Florida.

Diversity is Our Weakness
Timothy Birdnow
Here is an article in American Thinker about the homeless problem in St. Louis, notably down around the South Grand district.
The South Grand district had been a strip of decaying old commercial buildings when a number of Asian enterpreneurs came in, cleaned up the buildings, and turned it into a Chinatown. That quickly morphed into a more general entertainment area with restaurants, coffee houses, and bars featuring all manner of different foods and styles. But then that was taken over by the homosexuals, who now inhabit the surrounding neighborhood (and infest Tower Grove Park, a huge park in St. Louis) and so the area has a strong gay character, with rainbow flags prominent. It ain't Trump country, rest assured! The surrounding neighborhood is full of wonderful old Victorian homes, some mansions, that had decayed but have been brought back in recent years by the gay pioneers.
So when a group of local businessmen circulated a petition to not feed or give water to vagrants it was guaranteed to set off fireworks.
The area is infested with vagrants and you trip over them. Years ago, when it was still primarily Asian, my wife and I would go to some of the restaurants and it was bad then, but it has gotten much worse. It's not a family friendly place. I imagine the businessmen are sick of chasing them away.
The author if this piece is wrong in the end; he assumes most of the protesters who picketed the businesses over this petition were from elsewhere. Maybe some, but a lot of them live right there. But as long as the vagrants stay out of the neighborhood they are fine with them. There is something in the mindset of these over-educated urbanites, and especially the gay ones, that likes "diversity" and by that I mean the sense of having criminals hanging about to give the neighborhood atmosphere.
It was on South Grand years ago that a gang of black teens killed an elderly Asian man who was minding his own business walking down the street. The punks were playing the "knockout game" and punched the old man as hard as they could, killing him. That is the kind of people who come down there and it's only gotten worse. The price of "diversity".
And in fact I used to work for a property management company and we had a building we managed down there and one of our tenants - a mental case if there ever was one - chased a guy down the street and murdered him. He went away to prison for it. But he was threatened by the guy first, so got a gun, chased the guy down, and killed him. Lovely neighborhood.
And in fact before I married my wife she lived not too far from there. She was thrilled to get out of that neighborhood; there was a shooting at the seven eleven near her apartment. I remember going in there; the blood was still visible on the parking lot.
The problem was and remains the fact the City has been controlled by Democrats since 1948 and they have always been soft on crime. The cops do what they can but they get no help from the city government.
St. Louis is an odd place. It is essentially a series of small towns within an metropolitan area and there are good neighborhoods and bad ones - and often right next to each-other. Where I live the neighborhood is good but cross Kingshighway and you are in the hood. They stay there and we stay on our side. It's interesting.
And one of the very safest neighborhoods around is The Hill aka Dago Hill (as it was originally called). Our little Italy is full of small, cheap frame homes and lots of excellent restaurants. You can walk around outside at three a.m. if you are a-mind with zero fear. The Mafia keeps that area perfectly safe. And the kids who grow up there stay there. Many of them are on waiting lists to buy houses as they come vacant. It's what you can do when you apply a little non-diversity. I'm not Italian and am welcome there as long as I don't cause any trouble, but in the end it is an Italian neighborhood and that is it's strength. It is much like the old America we used to know.
Diversity is not our strength, it is our weakness. The Left pushed the idea of diversity being a strength for decades but it's a falsehood. Different peoples occupying the same space become competitors, and in the end come to loath each-other. South Grand's problem is too much diversity. The Hill's strength is too little. I know which one I prefer.
And there is Dogtown, which is also full of dumpy little homes but is clean and has low crime. Why? Because it is predominantly Irish. The same held true for years of Dutchtown, a German neighborhood, but the Germans moved away and now the neighborhood is "diverse" and utterly crime-riddled. Ditto Bevo, which was a German community (The Busch beer baron family owned a restaurant down there, the former home of Augustus Sr. called The Bevo Mill and it still operates as a restaurant today although the current owners don't sell German food much anymore.)
Wherever diversity touches strife and crime and poverty follows.
At any rate this little incident on South Grand is one more example of what happens when you have a "diverse" neighborhood.

Russia Targeting Data Centers
Timothy Birdnow
Russia has begun
targeting the internet, hitting data centers and other cyber control facilities in the Ukraine, something that can rob the Ukrainians of their most useful weapon in the war.
Without this technology the Ukrainians won't be able to control their fleet of drones, which have been very effective in making attacks inside Russia.
The article points out that the Ukrainians are using AI to make the critical kill decisions:
Kyiv still insists a human makes the kill decision. The procurement paperwork is already arguing otherwise.
On Sept. 8, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence and the Brave1 cluster put seven AI guidance makers through a single scenario: fly two kilometers, lock a moving armored target from at least 500 meters, then finish the strike with the pilot’s hands off the controls. Six passed and were recommended for procurement. The ministry’s own release says successful AI-guided strikes have risen tenfold since the start of the year, and that more than 70 AI and computer-vision systems are already in the force. In the same breath, it repeats the ethics line: artificial intelligence helps; a human still decides.
So now the Russians are going after the machine that guides the weapons. And that is a logical tactic since the Ukrainians no doubt have lost many of their drone pilots in attacks and more will come. Taking out the machine takes out the military. Modern warfare has become dependent on the machine.
The article continues:
That formula thins out fast once electronic warfare or distance cuts the FPV link. Ukrainian operators already use last-mile autonomy for exactly that failure mode — the onboard module takes over, locks the target, and completes the run. A Ukrainian Ministry of Defence adviser on loitering munitions put the destination in plain language in July: navigation, search, and attack will be fully autonomous. Yaroslav Azhnyuk, whose firm builds autonomy software for unmanned vehicles, told Al Jazeera the race is not to demo one clever drone; it is to make autonomy cheap and deployable across tens or hundreds of thousands of systems within months.
Russia is already there
So we are rapidly building a war machine that will not require human beings at all, and the ethics of that are problematic. The danger of that even more so; build a complex enough system and it may never shut down, and may start going after people it was never intended to target (like it's creators). Science fiction is littered with stories about AI going mad and destroying it's creator, starting with Frankenstein and going through HAL of 2001: A Space Odyssey, to Skynet in The Terminator and Samaritan in Person of Interest. It's not like everyone hasn't know it could happen.
This is how it starts.
But war is the great motivator, and technology explodes in times of war. By the end of this Russo-Ukrainian war AI is going to be extremely capable at doing this.
God help us all.

Russia is getting their butts kicked by Ukraines drones. In a recent battle using only drones and motorized drone gun platforms they reportedly eliminated 3,000 Russian troops. The war of attrition has backfired on Putin and its his troops that are being thinned.

Totally agree Mike; Ukraine has innovated drone warfare to the point they have negated Russia's superiority in manpower and in equipment. Of course it helps the rest of the world has been helping the Ukrainians with money and equipment. But certainly you are right about the fact the Russians are getting stretched thinner and thinner.
I was quite confident Russia would win this but now I'm not so sure. Problem is there is no exit strategy for either side at this point. This is going to completely exhaust both nations (which is what the European internationalists wanted of course.)
Putin can't afford to be seen as losing; he'll be deposed and probably killed. Zelensky won't back down either. And the bad blood guarantees no negotiated settlement. This thing will have a bloody and painful end.
And then what? Both sides will be overflowing with embittered, hardened people who will undoubtedly turn to mercenary work and organized crime. There is a reason the Albanians rule organized crime now; the war in Bosnia made them hard as nails. Also, the depopulation of men will lead to a desperate need for labor and I fear these countries will begin importing Muslim men (or Chinese) and they will be very, very different places after that and not for the better. Most likely they will both appeal to the West for aid, and that will come with strings which will demand they allow Muslims in. The suicide of the West will engulf the Slavic world.
This war stinks no matter how it comes out. I see nothing good coming from a victory either way. If it had been negotiated early on it would be different and in fact there were tentative peace agreements but the Europeans encouraged Zelensky to keep fighting, and now they want to go into this war directly - a mad act. Putin will use nukes if he feels cornered; he's not a man to worry about a couple of dozen million dead.
This failure to settle this is going to haunt us in the years to come.

Dems File Impeachment AGAIN!
Timothy Birdnow
They just can't wait.
They haven't even won either of the houses f Congress yet.
Representative Steve Cohen (D-TN) , a lame duck Democrat, filed the 26 article impeachment because, well, like Orange Man Bad and stuff.
According to the article:
. The sprawling resolution targets nearly every pillar of the administration’s second-term platform—including military operations off the coast of Venezuela, the deployment of federal forces to domestic cities, executive orders ending birthright citizenship, and mass deportation policies.
So basically everything they didn't like is now considered a "high crime or misdemeanor".
This is what we will get to enjoy - an enedless drumbeat of attack and criminalizing policy differences, just as we were treated to that in Trump's first term.
They blindly hate the man; there is no other reason.
If the GOP has a lick of sense they will put this on every commercial they run. In the first Administration Trump's numbers went way up when they did this to him. Now they need to let the public know what it is that will happen if America should be insane enough to put these Bolsheviks back in power.

I agree with Dana Mike; spot on! The Democrats just can't help themselves; they hate Trump more than they fear angering the public. Every time they tried impeaching Trump or prosecuting Trump his numbers went up and this could well extend to the Midterms.
Of course the media is trying to keep this quiet because they at least understand the folly of filing impeachment articles just before the election. The Republicans job is to make sure the public is made aware of this and remind everyone of what America voted out last time.

Venez-a-Wailin'
Timothy Birdnow
Huge protests rock Venezuela despite a near media blackout in the WestVenezuelans gather in Caracas to demand elections and the return of María Corina Machado.
The surviving government in Caracas has been set on it's heels by the extraction of former dictator Maduro and now huge protests rock the capital.
From the article:
Venezuelan citizens took to the streets of Caracas this Thursday to demand an electoral calendar and call for the return of opposition leader María Corina Machado, according to journalist Orlando Avendaño on his social media.
Among the slogans chanted by the crowd were "Out, Delcy! Out, Delcy!" and "Elections now!". The participants carried Venezuelan flags, signs with Machado's image, and banners with messages such as "Hunger for freedom."
The protest took place a day after the acting president Delcy Rodríguez briefly met with Donald Trump in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The meeting, which lasted about 15 minutes, was deemed "historic" by the Chavista regime, although a survey published this Thursday indicated that 91% of Venezuelans opposed that meeting.
In his speech before the UN, Rodríguez stated that "there will be elections in Venezuela" and spoke of a "democratic transformation," but without setting a date or presenting any schedule. Marco Rubio revealed that the meeting with Trump addressed the restructuring of Venezuela's sovereign debt, economic stabilization, and a political transition towards free and fair elections in Venezuela.
Reader Mike, who tipped us off to this, says electricity is out for hours during the day and a public with time on it's hands has been turning out in ever larger numbers.
It seems the Communists are going to lose power fairly soon.
The same holds true for Cuba, which is teetering on near total economic collapse.
Now, ef we can do it to the Sandanistas in Nicaragua we can have a trifecta in the Western Hemisphere!
Of course the big dog is Iran and they show no sign of crumbling yet. But stay tuned.

War of Words
This from Dana Mathewson, via David Burg on Townhall
Tim adds:
I can nitpick this a bit. For one thing he's wrong about socialism and communism; they do not go back to Marx so much as Jean Jacques Rousseau. Communism does go back to Marx and Engels but he was only taking an older idea and giving it a scientific veneer. In fact Communism is supposedly the end stage of socialism, which was the end stage of capitalism in Marx's view. There is a reason it was called the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics after all.
Communism was the paradise at the end of the evolution of society, not the doctrine itself. Being a Communist means first being a socialist. We call people Communists because they believe that socialism will result in this worker's paradise.
And the abuse of language is nothing new. Confucious warned about it in ancient China, saying that to restore a nation you must first true the language.
But the abuse of language came along after the twentieth century to a much greater degree because of a series of scientific developments that upended the Christian concepts of science and an objective Truth. The rise of psychology, particularly Freud, led to the concept of "my truth" as opposed to THE truth. Quantum physics and Relativity didn't help; both put the observer in the driver's seat. And Niels Bohr really pushed it forward with the Copenhagen Interpretation of quantum physics, in which he argued all thigns happen simultaneously. What had been looked on as purely a measuring problem became an attack on reality itself. (It's why Schroedinger came up with his cat-in-the-box experiment in the first place; he wasn't trying to explain Copenhaen but refute it. He and Einstein were the last holdouts.)
Anyway the role of the observer morphed in the popular culture and the weaker sciences into the idea the observer creates reality and this gave a huge push to the idea that we can change human nature and reality itself by the words we choose. So no longer is a child born a boy or girl but is "assigned" a sex when he is born for instance.
As to "capitalism" falling out of favor it should because we do not want capitalism, we want free markets. The great G.K. Chesterton called Capitalism "communism with a bigger paycheck" and he was right in terms of what Marx (who coined the term) meant; a crony capitalism, which is the Fascist economic system and entirely leftist. It is government partnering with giant corporations. Chesterton was an advocate of what he called Distributism, which was basically small, independent companies ie. the kind of free markets we used to have.
We are not capitalists. Nor should we choose to be. And we shouldn't let them demogugue us as such.
I also agree we should dump "Islamism" and admit that Islam itself is the problem. It is not just a few aberrant people; the Koran itself orders devout Muslims to murder their enemies, to rape their women and terrorize their families.
At any rate I think this a decent essay but wish he'd have gotten the details more accurate.
Fay Voshell adds:
I agree with much of what he writes. I'd probably add it's best to be really clear when addressing the wars about human identity: Male and female. There is no such thing as a transgender. He or she is a mutilated and drugged human being cosplaying the opposite sex. So tragically sad; so Mengelean.
Yes, words matter.

I was always under the impression that communism was cradle to grave. The more I learn about the Chinese communists the more I am aware that the only cradle to grave aspect is surveillance 24/7/365. Health care isnt free, you either pay out of pocket or have state run health care insurance either way you pay. Education isnt free, you pay an increasing tuition as you move up the education ladder.A families whole life savings can go into the higher education of their child.

Blue Spanish Eyes
Timothy Birdnow
ACTBLUE, the Democratic fundraising machine, was taking illegal foreign contributions and laundering them to Democrats. In addition they punished a whistleblower for outing their illegal activities.
I find it interesting the Republicans are far ahead of the Democrats in terms of fundraising after ACTBLUE was exposed.
From the article:
A new congressional report pulls back the curtain on the Democratic fundraising behemoth ActBlue, revealing the company may have recklessly laundered foreign money into American elections.
ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones may have perjured herself when she told Congress the platform is secure.
When attorneys voiced concerns that the company may have broken the law, Wallace-Jones and others in ActBlue leadership simply retaliated against them, alleges the Wednesday interim staff report from the House Administration Committee, House Judiciary Committee and House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
A running tally on the ActBlue website shows the liberal money machine has raised nearly $20 billion as of Thursday. How much of that enormous tranche originated abroad remains a complete mystery, the latest evidence suggests.
Foreign actors could easily bypass the company’s loophole-laden verification process, the committees allege.
And since much of this is "soft money" it's going to the Democrats and probably will never be reported. Billions to the Democrats in illegal contributions.
But it's less than it was in bygone days. The Democratic Party really was a money machine and the only reason they stayed competitive was because they violated campaign finance laws in a spectacular fashion. They always had more cash and ran far more advertising than did Republicans, even when the GOP appeared to be better off in terms of war chests.
We need to take these groups out. They deserve to be taken out legally anyway.

Another Harris Word Salad

Cakcula tries to explain computer algorithms as only she can do!
Notice her southern drawl in this; she doesn't sound like her old California self, but it putting on a sothern-black accent reminiscent of Hillbillary's.
Shhe says the Trump administration is trying to use computer algorithms to brainwash people into only looking at one thing. She compares it to a white flower and says it's like not telling people there are pink ones.
This is, of course, horribly insulting as HER presupposition is we are so stupid we can be tricked by people who think we are stupid. That she thinks she has to explain this to us is beyond insulting.

Flock You!
Timothy Birdnow
People have a right to know when they are being surveilled. These cameras are not police cameras too; it's just a private company watching the public to make a profit.
If you are going to spy on people you should not be surprised when people fight back.
I have the right to block my hidden camera on my laptop or on my television if I so choose. Just because someone is outside doesn't mean they are fair game for a prying eye.
To end freedom you must first end the idea that people should expect a certain amount of privacy. It's one thing for a shop owner to have cameras - quite another for them just to be stuck up on poles watching everybody all the time. That is not a free society.
